Northwest Conference play begins Saturday night for the Linfield basketball teams. This is the portion of the sports calendar that I really enjoy. Basketball has a nice Friday-Saturday cycle that is very manageable. Wish I could say the same about March and April.

They are, in order:
Team grade point average of 3.0;
Play 27 games (25 regular-season, two conference tournament games;
Earn NCAA playoff bid;
No distractions, on or off the court;
Undefeated at home;
Winning record on the road.
